There are moments in ordinary days we dread: moments of difficulty, confrontation and unwelcome change. In this moment of COVID-19, with its extraordinary pressures and upheavals, this remains true. We still must acknowledge when our colleagues or family are behaving badly, or when we have let others down, and work toward change. And we continue to be presented with the opportunity that has always been available to humanity throughout time: the chance to become our better selves. Our conversation, based on the science of positivity psychology and resilience, allows us to navigate these moments with increasing clarity and capacity and a bit more ease. You’ll learn the perspectives and tools that enable us to build resilience, no matter how challenging the moment.
This course will take place Thursday, May 28 from 10:00am-11:00am. All CSU Faculty & Staff are invited to attend this free webcast.

In last week’s Well-being Wednesday email
we mentioned two optional Kaiser well-being webinars but did not have registration information available at that time. Kaiser has provided the following information for the two sessions:
Laughter is the Best Medicine
Please Note: Registration is limited so if you’re interested we recommend registering as soon as possible.
Governor Newsom Has Announced a new resource to help parents working in essential fields find safe and licensed childcare.
The new California Childcare Portal has been created to help families working in essential fields (such as health care, police, postal services, grocery, and emergency services) find licensed childcare in their area during the COVID-19 pandemic. The site is easy to use by just typing in a zip code for a result of childcare centers and homes that are currently open, their capacity, licensing history, and other useful information for choosing care.
Training courses for CHRS Recruiting were originally scheduled to begin this month. However, due to a shift in the overall timeline of the project, the training will now begin in June. Details are being finalized and an announcement is forthcoming.
If you previously registered for a training session, you will be contacted and given first priority to move to one of the new dates. At this time, we are planning to deliver all training remotely via Zoom. We also plan to record a session of each course and make them available online.
Your patience is appreciated as we work through these changes. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at email@example.com.
