University Personnel is pleased to announce The UP Side LIVE!, our inaugural in-person forum. You’ve read our newsletter, now see us in person! We will discuss process and procedure updates, upcoming initiatives, and answer your questions.

The UP Side LIVE! will take place Wednesday, April 10 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Student Union Theater and is open to all employees. You don’t need to register…just show up!

As we prepare for the day, we’d love to hear from you. What topics do you want to learn more about? What questions are you hoping to get answered? Please complete this short Google form by March 29 to help us make this event meaningful to you.

University Personnel is pleased to announce that the 2019-20 Support our Staff Scholarship application is now open. Please click here to apply online. The deadline for submission is May 1, 2019.

The Support Our Staff Scholarship is available for SJSU/Tower Foundation/Research Foundation undergraduate or graduate staff members (excluding MPPs).

Awardees must:

• Have a major in any department within any college or school at SJSU
• Be in a permanent, non-probationary position (student assistants are not eligible)
• Be employed full-time or part-time (preference will be given to full-time staff members)
• Be an undergraduate, transfer, or graduate student
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or greater

Preference will be given to staff members with a commitment to community service. Scholarships may be used for tuition and/or books.

We are pleased to announce that the CSU’s new streamlined Learning Portal, CSULearn, is live!

Access the new system via one.SJSU. Search for “CSULearn” or “training” and make the tile a favorite. Sign in with your SJSUOne ID and password.

Training courses previously assigned to you in Skillport are in the process of being migrated to CSULearn. We expect all assignments to be available by the end of February. Due dates will be adjusted accordingly. Employees who started work after November 30, 2018, will be assigned the appropriate compliance trainings in the next few weeks.

The CSU has prepared a short tutorial that you can watch now on YouTube or you can attend one of our remaining in-person overview sessions.
