CSU’s Got Talent: Overcoming & Understanding Implicit Bias in Higher Education & the Workplace

While most people in the United States sincerely reject prejudice and discrimination, many of us exhibit patterns of unwitting bias in our thoughts, feelings, and actions and displays of explicit intergroup hostility and division are increasingly visible as well. This interactive session will explore the social, cultural, and psychological origins of intergroup biases, and the most problematic effects such biases can have in higher education and the workplace. We will also explore strategies that individuals and institutions of higher learning can employ to combat prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination.
