Welcome to Fall 2020 semester!

Dear campus community,

Though we remain in the midst of an extraordinary and unprecedented period, I am delighted to welcome each of you to the Fall 2020 semester. This promises to be a semester none of us will soon forget!

As SJSU adapts this fall, our Weeks of Welcome kick off today in an online, engaging and highly creative format. I hope you can check out our “Virtual Tabling” between Aug. 19—Sept. 30, where students can see videos and access a variety of resources that introduce them to all of our campus’s offerings. The “Virtual Tabling” will be hosted on the popular Sammy App and will also be available via the Student Involvement YouTube channel.

There is more to reveal about all of the things we have to look forward to this semester and throughout the academic year! I invite you to view my virtual Fall Welcome address, which you can find below. We have made it easy to view those sections that most interest you, whether it is Athletics, the Arts, Enrollment, Faculty and Staff, Research, or other topics.

I also encourage you to view the video remarks prepared by our Academic Senate Chair, Ravisha Mathur, and our Associated Students President, Zobeida Delgadillo. I know that both of them will continue to shine this year in their respective roles, and I appreciate that they took the time to record a special message for our campus community. All three video messages can be found together in a Fall Welcome 2020 playlist.

I will continue to share updates on SJSU achievements, accolades and various topics throughout the fall and academic year through my bi-weekly blog and Twitter. Please subscribe or follow me for the latest SJSU news!

Have a fantastic semester and a great year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mary A. Papazian
