President Mohammad Qayoumi will visit the state capital Aug. 29 to meet with alumni at an event hosted by Assemblymember Jim Beall, ’74 Political Science. The event will be from 7-9 a.m. at Gallaghers, 1201 K Street, Sacramento. Breakfast will be served. A San Jose native, Beall graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory, attended SJSU, and served on the San Jose City Planning Commission before becoming the youngest person, at age 28, ever to be elected to the San Jose City Council. In 1996, he was elected to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. In 2006, he won the Assembly District 24 race.
