Four Spartans posted a Top 20 performance on Day 2, including Mark Hubbard‘s third place finish after 36 holes of the Club Glove 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship at the Par-72 Rio Secco Golf Club.

The Spartans posted a second-round team score of 304, 16-over par and one stroke ahead of Fresno State’s 305. New Mexico State led the nine-team field with 7-over par 295 and slid past Fresno State for the overall lead.

The Aggies enter the final round with a top score of seven-over par 584. The Bulldogs dropped to second place with an overall score of 593 and the Spartans remain at third posting a 597.

Idaho’s Damian Telles remains the individual leader after shooting a 73 in the second round for a 139 overall score. In second, is Fresno State’s Bryan Hogan with a 142 after posting a second-round 74. Hubbard is the only other player under par for the tournament after posting a 72 on Day 2 for a 143.

Justin Estrada landed a second-round score of 76 for a 150 and a tie for 11th. Daniel Semmler and Jay Myers each shot a 78 tying for 19th place at 152 and Matthew Hovan finished the day at 33rd also posting a second-round 78 for 157.
