Cinthya Gonzalez

’15 Business Administration

“This honor proves that my hard work has paid off.”

Dean’s Scholar Gonzalez came to the United States from Mexico at age 15. “I struggled a lot in the beginning,” she admits. But “living here has given me opportunities that I did not have in Mexico and a brighter outlook for my future.” In addition to her father, who inspired her to pursue a career in management, Gonzalez credits Professor Laimin Lo for her success at SJSU. “Professor Lo saw potential in me and pushed me to set higher goals for myself,” she says. “Like many Spartans, I will be the first in my family to graduate from college. Walking on stage the day of my graduation will be a proud moment for me and my family.”
