Beginning Sunday, March 6, the sign-in page will have a new look and feel. This change is the result of an update to our software that will grant increased browser and operating system compatibility. The process for logging in and using the system will remain unchanged.
If you’re having difficulty signing in, please note that the system will be undergoing maintenance and will not be available unto noon on Sunday, March 6. If you are still having difficulty afterward, please visit Password Help for further assistance.
The New MySJSU Sign-In Page
The “Pay Now” and “Payment Plans and Account Services” buttons will be unavailable from 10:00AM to approximately 3:00PM on Friday, July 18 to allow for enrollment cancellation for those students enrolled in Fall 2014 classes who failed to pay by the July 17 payment deadline. Please contact the Bursar’s Office at email@example.com should you have any questions.
MySJSU (PeopleSoft HCM) Upgrade Schedule
Over the weekend of February 21—24, we will be updating our MySJSU (PeopleSoft HCM) database to a newer version of PeopleTools (from 8.51.08 to 8.53.02). We expect MySJSU to be unavailable from 6 pm Friday until 6 am Monday morning. When you log in Monday morning, you will notice that the system looks very different.
The upgrade includes the new Tangerine style sheet, which will have a brighter, sleeker look, with visual improvements made to grids. All headers and pages will be affected by the change. Please note that your local documentation may need to be updated to reflect these new changes.
- Do I need to re-learn how to use PeopleSoft?
No. While the look and feel of Tangerine is different, the only major changes to the pages are behind the scenes. While the screens you’re used to may look unfamiliar, everything should be in the same place. If you notice that something is markedly different from what you’re accustomed to, please contact the IT Help Desk at 408-924-1530 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Will student pages change?
Self service pages will not change. Students may notice a slight delay when first logging in as their student center applies the old style sheet. They will also see the new light blue header at the top of their pages. The pages themselves will remain the same.
- Why was this change implemented?
Remaining on current versions of PeopleTools ensures PeopleSoft will continue to run smoothly and allows for future improvements as they are developed.
- When will official documentation (user guides) be updated?
We are working to update screenshots in our current documentation. The updated documents will be posted to MySJSU as they are completed.
- What web browsers work with the new version?
For a complete list, visit PeopleSoft Certified Browsers.

SJSUOne is a password consolidation system. An SJSUOne account is a university access account available to all current faculty, staff and students at San José State. You can use your SJSUOne username and password to log in to most SJSU applications on campus, including the SJSU wireless network, SJSU email and MySJSU.
New Feature Launches May 30
Beginning Thursday night, May 30, IT Services is introducing a new set/reset password feature for all SJSUOne accounts.
No More Challenge Questions
The series of challenge questions required to reset lost passwords will no longer be available.
Automated Password Reset
There will be 2 new ways to reset a lost SJSUOne password:
- Enter your ID, birthdate and the last 4 numbers of your SSN. This will take you to a page where you can select a new password.
- If you have a non-SJSU email address entered in your MySJSU profile, you can have a password reset link emailed to you. Clicking this link will take you to a customized web page where you can reset your password.
Manual Password Reset
If either of these methods are unsuccessful, you still have the option of emailing Information Support Services at email@example.com to have your password manually reset for you.
Update Your Bookmarks
The new Password Reset page address will be https://sjsuone.sjsu.edu/SJSUOne/ResetPassword/ —so please update any bookmarks and documentation. You can also access the page by clicking the Lost Password button on MySJSU.
