All math majors are now asked to take Engr 100W (since Math 100W is not being offered) unless you have permission from Dr. Blockus to take another 100W course. As a side benefit Engr 100W counts as two upper division GE courses (Area R and Area Z). Here is the latest info about registering for Engr 100W. You need an add code from the math office. This semester evidently math majors can register for any section of Engr 100W. To get an add code for Engr 100W fill out the online add code request form on the Math Dept web page. Add codes only last for one day so don’t apply until the actual day you are going to register for classes since the add code expires after one day. Below we have the message about Engr 100W for summer and fall from the math office. Cheers, Brad J
Since advanced registration for summer is closed, they have to show up the first day like everyone else. chem 100w is allowing students to enroll and still has space. the engr 100w sections are closed, but they still may be able to get permission numbers from the instructors.
For the fall, any section of engr 100W is available to students. When they are allowed to register, they should fill out the form on the math dept website and we can give them a permission number as long as the section is open. if you are advising students, please have them wait until their registration date to fill out the form, since our permission numbers are only good the day they are issued. if students fill out our form before they are able to register, it’s a lot of extra work for both them and us, and the section they want may fill up before it can get sorted out. all of the information is on the sign up form. we may have other departments 100ws available, so i didn’t want to have inaccurate information on the front page of the website. it should be updated by the time registration opens though.
