Fall 2015 Math/Stats Grad School Workshop

Hi everyone (undergrad and grad math/stats majors):
Don’t worry, this will be the last mass e-mail for a while.
This is just to remind you to RSVP to tim.hsu@sjsu.edu for:
** Fall 2015 Math/Stats Grad School Workshop **
Date: Wed Sep 09
Time: 3:00-4:15
Room: MacQuarrie Hall 320
Want to do statistical consulting or help to cure cancer with mathematical models? Want to break or make codes or be a math professor? Then you should think about getting a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences!
Our Fall 2015 Grad School Workshop is aimed at students starting graduate school in Fall 2016 or 2017 (though the sooner you start planning, the better). We will discuss what you need to do before, during and after grad school; how to prepare for and get into Ph.D. programs; what life is like in grad school; and what kind of job you can get afterwards.
We will also discuss personal aspects of grad school: how to pay for it (hint: a math Ph.D. should be FREE), what grad school means for your family, friends, and loved ones. All math/stats majors and aspiring mathematicians are welcome. Come with questions, leave with answers.
There are still spaces left, so please RSVP to tim.hsu@sjsu.edu at your earliest convenience so we can save you a seat! Hope to see you there!
