Peer Tutors and Mentors

From: Deanna Peck <deanna.peck@sjsu.edu> Date: Fri, Apr 3, 2015 at 1:57 PM Subject: Peer Connections is hiring! To: Bem Cayco <bem.cayco@sjsu.edu>

It is that time of the semester when Peer Connections is recruiting qualified students for the positions of peer tutor and peer mentor for the Fall 2015 semester.  We are looking for students who have strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  We know that you see these students frequently in your classes and interactions and since Math of all levels is one of the most sought after subjects, we would love to see more of your students applying for these positions.

Students who are individually recommended by faculty and staff are more likely to apply than those who receive a flier or hear a class announcement. Therefore, I invite you to encourage any students who you believe would be effective in assisting others achieve academically and/or navigate through their university experience.

A job description and job application for both positions can be found at:  http://peerconnections.sjsu.edu/employment/  Please click on the position title to get the complete job description.  Below, I have included a quick bulleted list of information that you may want to pass along to your students.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in promoting this important effort and feel free to pass this email or information on to your other colleagues.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Deanna
