Subject: Title IX Compliance for Students/Spring 2015 Registration Holds During the summer and at the start of the semester, all incoming new students were notified through their MySJSU accounts that they were required to complete the online course(s) listed below or a hold would be placed on their Spring 2015 registration:
Undergraduate: Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault (45 min) AlcoholEdu (90 min)
Graduate: Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault (45 min)
These courses support SJSU’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for our whole community while also addressing CSU Executive Orders 1095 and 1097 in compliance with new educational mandates under Title IX, VAWA/Campus SaVE Act, and the Clery Act.
Incoming students have received numerous reminders to complete the course(s) through EverFi, the course platform. While many incoming students have fulfilled this requirement, a significant number of students have not and therefore, these students will NOT be able to register for classes when Spring 2015 registration opens on November 3, 3014.
With support from Provost Feinstein and VPSA Barnett Terry, we seek your assistance to encourage students to complete the courses listed above so they are able to register for Spring classes on their assigned date.
Also, please note that it may take a couple of weeks to lift the holds, so students should complete this requirement now or they will likely be delayed in registering and miss out on securing priority classes.
