Each year at SJSU, the Lurie College of Education hosts the Celebration of Teaching, which recognizes students who possess the qualities to become outstanding teachers. This year, Lurie College recognized 87 local middle school, high school, community college, and university students who were nominated by their teachers, principals, professors, and supervisors. Each awardee received a certificate from the Lurie College of Education along with a $1000 scholarship if they enroll in a teaching credential program at Lurie College in the future. The ceremony also featured a keynote address from Ashanti Branch, Founder and Executive Director of the Ever Forward Club.
