Tired of being interrupted by calendar notifications that freeze your browser? Google has changed the calendar settings options so you can use “browser notifications” that won’t freeze your activity.
All you have to do is change your notification settings.
We’ll be putting together an ITS blog entry shortly to spread the word.
Change your notification settings
- Open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings > Settings.
- In the “Notifications” section, choose your settings.
- Click Save.
- If you choose the “Use browser notifications instead of interruptive alerts” setting, your browser may ask you to allow calendar.google.com to show notifications. The exact prompt you see may look different depending on which browser you use. If you don’t allow your browser to show notifications, you’ll see pop-up notifications instead.
