Clare Wadsworth on new computer in Clark Hall 102

SJSU Molecular Biology Major Clare Wadsworth was the first student to use a new computer in the Academic Success Center’s Computer Lab. The lab is provided for student’s at SJSU by Academic Technology.

On the morning of Thursday, February 9, Wadsworth came to Clark Hall 102 to use the lab, not knowing new equipment was being installed there. When asked how she liked the computer Wadsworth said, “It’s amazing. It runs really well. The new keyboard is great. There is no lagging with this computer. It’s not slow like the PCs. This is a really awesome computer!”

The computers have new software too. They have Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. They are loaded with SPSS 20, Microsoft Office 2011, the latest Apple applications and much more. They even have Apple’s new iBooks Author program for creating iPad formatted eBooks and text books. It is hoped these computers, and the software on them, will help our students achieve their academic goals using the latest technology at San Jose State University.

Folks with questions on these can contact Steve Sloan, (408) 924-2374 or steve.sloan@sjsu.edu.
