Communication Studies Professor Matthew Spangler is Co-Directing a National Endowment for the Humanities summer institute, The Immigrant Experience in California through Literature and Theatre. The institute examines how the experience of transnational immigration has been represented through literary and theatrical texts. History Professor (and Department Chair) Glen Gendzel is one of the faculty presenters. The participants are middle and high school teachers from around the U.S.; they are on campus July 17-21, 2016.
